Good News

It’s been a while since my last post, but I have a good excuse. At the beginning of this month I went back to work, so I don’t have much free time now and I try to spend as much time as possible with the kids during the few hours between work and bedtime. I also try to sneak a couple of hours a week at the gym to see if I can get rid of the extra pounds that I gained with Tobias!.

Tobias has been growing and growing. He doesn’t fit in most of the 3 month clothes anymore!! His development is also going really well. He can now sit with support and he has almost complete head control. He is also grabbing whatever he can find. He loves to be in his gym and grabs all the rattles and toys. He also discovered how to take his pacifier out and throw it away. He does this mainly when he is hungry and wants some food in his mouth. He also eats very well. I nurse him during the weekends and at night and he gests hungry every two hours. During the week, he gets 4 to 5 ounces of breastmilk from the bottle every 2 and a half to 3 hours. At night is the same routine and he wakes up every 2-3 hours, eats, and goes right back to sleep.

Tobias is also the most smiley baby of this world. Or of this house at least. Since he discovered how to smile, he hasn’t stopped. If before we had to jump up and down making silly faces to get a little tiny smile, now we only have to say “hi”, and there it goes: the most beautiful smile that you’d ever seen. He is also close to start laughing. He almost did it for me last weekend.
Last Tuesday Tobias had an MRI of his spine to rule out a possible tethered cord. I was very anxious because he was going to have general anesthesia again which also means he was going to have to be intubated one more time. However, he did awesome!!. He recovered very fast from the anesthesia and just two hours later he was already smiling and being as calm as always. Later that day we received wonderful news from the neurosurgeon: Everything is fine and dandy!! Thanks to God!!

To continue with the good news, that same day my brother got his first job as a professional musician. Congratulations Juanca!, We are very proud of you!.

Buenas noticias!

Gracias a Dios!!
